A subset of Functional Mobility, Deployable Solutions are currently garnering a lot of attention – for good reason. These flexible, highly-customizable solutions, which tightly integrate data center, network, unified communications, wireless and security technology into a compact ruggedized container or case, are extending media-rich enterprise IT functionality to remote users on the battlefield, in emergency response scenarios and for community-based events.
Giving both military and civilian agencies the ability to deliver the same level or better IT functionality to in-field personnel as they have on-site is a personal passion of mine. As a Solutions Architect specializing in Deployable Solutions for Red River, I help to fulfill mission-critical agency needs by enabling secure collaboration and communication capabilities for end-users no matter where they are working. I am proud to put my skillset to use helping those doing extremely important work in the field — often during disasters and high stress events — communicate and interoperate with other agencies.
AT THE FOREFRONT OF DEPLOYABLE SOLUTIONS TECHNOLOGY
I’ve been at the forefront of Deployable Solutions technology for nearly a decade. Here at Red River, I actively collaborate with and provide engineering support to customers from multiple government agencies with a primary focus on the United States Navy and U.S. Marine Corp. I previously worked as a Systems Engineer on a rapid response Systems Integration program supporting deployed users in Hawaii, Germany, and around the world. I also served in the U.S. Navy as a crypto-communications technician, so I understand the demands and requirements of end-users first-hand. Having a broad base of IT certifications, including being a Cisco Certified Network Associate, Cisco Certified Design Associate, Cisco Physical Security Implementation, EMC Velocity Sales Engineer and Hitachi Data Systems Storage Foundations, among others, also helps with the design and construction of Deployable Solutions that work in real-world scenarios.
I enjoy utilizing my own extensive industry knowledge to develop highly customized Deployable Solutions for our customers, and I’m excited to share my insight and expertise with Red River blog readers. I hope to provide a voice that you can relate to and clear information you can leverage regarding how today’s warfighters and first-responders are using Deployable Solutions to connect with critical data in real-time for tactical communication and strategic decision-making. Quent Strandburg is a highly-certified IT professional with deep expertise in systems and network engineering, hardware/software, IT project management, servers, storage devices, encryption, end user support, installations and troubleshooting. As a Solutions Architect for Red River, Strandburg specializes in Deployable Solutions and provides engineering support along with customized, multi-vendor solutions for customers across all government agencies with a primary focus on the United States Civilian Agencies and the Department of Defense (DOD).
Prior to joining Red River, he served as Lead Sales Engineer for Iron Bow Technologies and Systems Engineer for Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC). Strandburg was also a Cryptologic Technician in Communications for the U.S. Navy. He holds a Master of Science degree in Management, Information Systems and Services, as well as a Bachelor of Science in Information Systems Management and Business Administration from the University of Maryland University College (UMUC).
